Hi,
Could someone guide me if 6 months probation is legal or not. My company (located in Mumbai) is changing the probation period for New Joinee's from 3 month to 6 months.
Under which labour law/ guidelines does it mention the extent of probation period before conformation.
I have heard that its 240 days but am not sure as I need to read the specific act.
Please guide me.

Yes it is legal for the Company to fix 6 months as probation time..
