mathadi act mainly applies to head load workers who are unorganised. The mathadi board has a pool of workers which are engaged by the companies for their loading and unloading work.

Dear Mr. Akhtar,
The Maharashtra Mathadi Hamal and other Manual workers (Regulation of Employment and welfare) Act, 1969 is applicable to certain employments which are listed in the Schedule appended to the Act Unprotected workmen who are doing loading unloading work are covered by this Act. In case of courier cos, entry in schedule states employment in markets, factories and other establishments in connection with loading, unloading, stacking, carrying, weighiong, (measuring, filling, stitiching, sorting, cleaning or such other work) including work preparatory or incidental to such operations carried on by workers not covered by any other entries in this Schedule. Therefore it will be applicable to courier cos where loading unloading work is carried out.
