Dear Seniors,
I am working in a company wherein around 50 employees are off rolls.They are given consultant fees per month in the form of salary and from which a 10% tds is deducted from their fees.They all are engineers with 0 to 1 yr exp.and are hired for 6 months to 1 year.
why the company has kept these employees because being the project based company we get projects for 6 month to 1 year.Once the project is over their contract with us is terminated
What all company's legal liabilities are associated with these kind of employees
Also want to know the difference between contract employee and consultants and their legal rigths.
