Bonafide purchaser for value

Subject - Bonafide purchaser for value
One of my client had purchased a property for a valuable consideration. Before purchase of the property they had taken legal opinion and obtained encumbrance certificate. The encumbrance certificate did not reflect any encumbrance. Subsequent to the purchase the income tax claims that the property has been attached by them and second schedule to the income tax notice has been given to the assessee. Any case laws on this aspect ?
