Some of our employees have opted for release under Voluntary Retirement Scheme(VRS) in may ,2009.Sir i want to know that what amount of Ex-gratia payable to the employees will be exmpted from income tax ?

amount paid thruogh vrs upto a limit of 5 lakh rupees is tax free...
