Maternity Benefit

Subject - Maternity Benefit
In my Company, owner has put clause in leave policy that who ever is going on maternity leave will get paid maternity benefit only if she compulsorily work for atleast one year after rejoing. If not then, I have to return the total amount with 3% interest.

After rejoining I have also asked for medical expenses, he refused to pay since they do not have any provision for the same.

Please guide me what all benefits I am eligible under various Acts / Laws.

dear rama
the clause your owner has out in leave policy regarding maternity leave is lllegal and against the law.
dear there is no provision in the act regarding medical expenses ,you are entitle a medical bonus of rs 1000 if the employer does not provide free medical care to women.
pls donot have any argument with owner.you first avail maternity leave than only show your rights otherise he will take action against you right now.
tks

Dear Mr. Malik,

Thanks for your guidance. Please advise whether this medical bonus of Rs. 1000/- is on monthly basis or flat one time payment.
