As per Payment of Bonus Act , The defination of Employee" means any person (other than an apprentice) employed on a salary or wage not exceeding [(Note: Subs. by Act No.67 of 1985, Sec.2, for the words "one thousand and six hundred rupees" (w.e.f. 7th November, (1985)) two thousand and five hundred rupees] per mensem in any industry to do any skilled or unskilled manual, supervisory, managerial, administrative, technical or clerical work for hire or reward, whether the terms of employment be express or implied; Now this limit is revised up to 3500/- ,
In our co. All employees are drawing salary above Rs. 3500/- so whethere they are entitled for the bonus or not ?

dear
this limit is revised to ten thousand rupees with effect from financial year2006-07 onwards.
it means any employee getting basic+vda less than 10000 per month is entitle to get bonusbut calculation will be done on Rs3500/-

Pramod is right. The bonus is a statutory liability and must be paid within the specified tie lines.

As`per PAYMENT OF BONUS ACT ,Bonus is a statutory liability and it should be paid with in eight month of close of financial year
