When a death happens in a factory premises, body has to be sent to Post Mortem and if as per report, it is a natural death it is not necessary to inform the inspector of factories.

However, it is must to go for post mortem and have a record that death is natural. Otherwise, in case of allegation there will be no proof and management can be taken for ride by both union and Govt Agencies.

It is advisable that the case of death is reported to the Factory Inspector. This is to avoid all subsequent problems.

Hi,

Recently, I had the same experience. It is a mandatory on the part of employer to notify the death to inspector factories.

It gives safeguard the employer to avoid legal problems.

Hi,

Yes it is mandatory to inform about the death to inspector. It gives you the benefit if something goes wrong, you would be out of the legal troubles.
