| Warm regards please find below 2 queries I'm having doubts with.. kindly help with the same. A firm having its business at one city X, started its business in another city Y. As the number of employees crossed more than 20 it was covered by E.S.I.Act. Due to unavoidable reasons it closed it branch at city Y.However it is continuing it's business at city X. Now the employees numbers came down to 5. 1)Whether the firm continuing its business at city X is still covered by ESI act. At the time of closing its business this firm sold their stocks to another person. And the person who bought the stocks started business at the same premises with 12 employees only. 2)Whether the person who bought the goods and started business in the same premises will also be covered by ESI Act,Even if their number of employees are below 20. Please clarify. Thank You..
