Relieving letter

Dear all,

This is in regards to my relieving letter. I was working with an x company which has the HR term for leaving the company by an employee. The employee has to serve 2 months of notice or the notice period can be buy out.

In my case, I was unable to serve 2 months of notice since my next company wants me to join immediate, though I had served 3 weeks of notice apart from those I do communicated that I am willing to pay the rest for which I am unable to serve the notice. And the same has been agreed by co. HR but not with my manager, as he was insisting to serve 2 months notice. On my last day with my former company I had my exit interview and HR also told me that within few days they will provide me "full an final" amount. I have asked them so many times but they are not reverting with the amount. I do have the mail from HR mgr that they will provide me the full an final amount asap.

Please can anyone help me what will be the legal step against my former company, I can take.

Rgds,
Sam.
