An organisation may apply for exemption from the operation of Provident Fund (PF) by forming the Provident Fund (PF) Trust. Many organisations have formed such exempted PF Trust. Such PF trusts are also eligible for exemption under Income Tax Act, 1961. However, there are various rules, regulations and compliances to be adhered to. “Ignorance of law is no excuse” and hence one needs to comply with statutory provisions to avoid the penal consequences. The program is aimed at providing detailed working knowledge the exempted PF trust along with taxation aspects.
