Notice Period Query

Subject - Notice Period Query
Hi,

I have resigned from my current company and currently serving Notice period as mentioned in my contract letter.

However, while deciding my last working day the company is not including the day I resigned, they are telling me that the notice period starts from the next working day from the day of resignation.

I have worked in companies before and they all have included the day of resignation as the notice period day.

Is there any law or act I can refer to and give reference to my HR so that they can consider the day of resignation as one of the days in notice period.

Thanks

dear veneet
day of resignation has to be included in notice period.there is no law as such but is general understanding.
if your HR says that they will start counting after one week than there is no soution for that .
it is the date of resignation from where notice peiod start.Ask your HR when the joining of employee start ,it is one day after
the date of joining or same day.
