Dear Sir,
I was working with in a bank and as per the appointment letter I was supposed to serve 3 months notice period after my resignation. I had served 9 days notice period and than left the bank and joined other organization. My resignation was accepted my boss and I had mentioned my last working date in the same. Now after 1 and half years I have got one notice from previous employer regarding notice period recovery. As per the notice I have to pay my notice period due and if I fails to do so they will take necessary action against me. Request your guidance regarding this issue that what action they can take against me if I do not pay? Can they file a legal case against me?
Please advice.

Dear Harsh
As per the appointment letter you must serve 3 months after submitting the notice to the organisation. As you were not having the adequate time to serve, you have to discuss with the HR Department for the buy back of notice period.
At present the bank is asking you to pay the notice pay as per the Appointment Letter. You have to pay the notice pay of 2 months and 21 days salary to the bank.
If you are failing to pay the Notice pay, obviously they can file a legal case against you.
