can u explain the actual meaning of disposed of. i.e a case is disposed of means ,it exactly disposed or not. a writ petion filed in the delhi high court. now the the case is disposed of. is it the exact meaning of the words.

Disposed off means the case had been decided by way of some speaking order. it may be on merits or it may be by court on its own when there is no representation from either side or one side. It may be by way of mutual representation of Advocates on record. But, in all such cases, the court disposes the matter on hand, by way of a speaking order.
