If any festival declared as holiday during previous years which fall on sunday this year (2018) & management decided to declare the same as holiday instead of changing this? What should we do?
From India, undefined
Dear member,
I understand your query is whether a gazetted holiday falling on Sunday should merit another day off in lieu of Sunday. Am I correct?
If so, as per my understanding, a national holiday coinciding with a Sunday is an unfortunate coincidence and such holidays are not usually compensated by giving another day off. As an hypothetical example, should Independence Day be on a Sunday, the following Monday or preceding Saturday shall not be deemed holiday.
Hope this clarifies your question.
Best regards,
