Hi - I am an employee of an India organization and came to Australia on a long term role. I already had a PR of Australia and there wasn't any visa obligation for me. Now I looking to move out of the organization. I have given them 1 month of notice as per the Australian laws however it turns out that they want me to pay-in-lieu of this shortfall in the notice period as my Indian offer letter has the notice period of 3 months. What are my options? Am I supposed to pay for this shortfall of is this a cheap trick by the organization to harass the employees and instill fear in their minds?
