Kindly guide me on the obligation of Contractor right from the scratch under the relevant act and also mention us the records and registers to be kept.

Hi,
If you are a contractor as defined in the Contract Labour Regulations and Abolition Act, you have to comply with the provisions of this Act. You have to read the provisions, so that you can become familiar with the statutory obligations.
The obligation starts from the registration of the contractor to maintenance of registers and records, filing of periodical returns and observing the service conditions of employees including payment of wages, granting of leave, and providing them the facilities of health,welfare and safety.

In India, companies are governed by the Indian Companies Act,1956 and through various provisions establishes a control mechanism upon organisational, financial and managerial functions of the companies.
The compliance certificate contains 33 points and these 33 points are actually 33 issues required to be verified by the Company Secretary each issue pertaining to some or the other aspect of the status/working of the Company.
